What is Lumecca IPL?

Lumecca is the most powerful intense pulsed light (IPL) to treat pigmented and vascular lesions on the market. HOW DOES Lumecca IPL WORK?
The Lumecca IPL laser uses photo-thermolysis through the delivery of specific wavelengths of light which interact with red and brown pigments in the skin. These pigments absorb the light and are destroyed, often in one to two sessions.
WHO IS A SUITABLE CANDIDATE?
Lumecca is suitable for anyone concerned with brightening uneven tones within the skin, specific forms of pigmentation such as freckles and photo-damage as well as fine vascular lesions and vessels. We can also treat acne bacteria using our Lumecca.

Is a Test Patch Required?

Yes. An initial test patch is required for all patients. This can be done within a minimum of 24-48 hours prior to the treatment. This is to ensure safety for the client with no adverse reactions.
WHEN WILL I NOTICE RESULTS?
Vessels will either immediately appear darker post-treatment or will completely collapse and disappear. Redness and swelling will occur surrounding the lesion. Pigmented lesions also can become darker with mild swelling. Bruising is uncommon but possible for more prominent vessels. Micro crusting can be present and is expected to exfoliate off naturally within 7-10 days for the face and up to 14 days for the body.
HOW OFTEN DO I NEED TREATMENTS?
Depending on what we are treating within the skin , this could be anywhere from 4,6 or 8 week intervals.

Does the treatment hurt?

The treatment is a little uncomfortable however it is a very quick process. All of our clients find the treatment quite bearable.

Immediately post-treatment the skin will appear red, darkening of lesions such as vessels or pigmentation can be noticed and mild to moderate swelling depending on the concern being treated. Lesions will darken within 3-5 days and will cause micro-crusting to be naturally exfoliated off within 7-10 days for the face and up to 14 days for the body.
A consultation is mandatory prior to treatment to determine the skin’s functioning and your goals. Lumecca requires the skin to be prepped for a minimum of 2 weeks on a gentle cleanser, pigment inhibitor, hydrator and SPF. Post-treatment requires the application of a nonocclusive gel prescribed by your therapist.
